The Center for Teaching Excellence at Texas A&M University provides learning opportunities and professional development for faculty, staff, post-doctoral fellows and graduate students. Through face-to-face consultations, curriculum design/redesign, graduate teaching assistant training and professional development workshops, the center provides educators with the tools necessary to make an impact on the students they teach.

Job Description: 

​

The Student intern assists the  staff with the design and implementation of large and small events. The intern will assist with the design and implementation of large and small events to include preparing materials, set-up and maintenance of online event registration, coordinating vendors and venues, venue set-up and tear down, on-site registration and coordination, marketing and communication, and social media. Maintaining event participation records; collecting data, and writing summary reports for events is expected. Normal office duties are expected as well.

Qualifications, Benefits, and Achievements

This is not requires, but preferably to qualify for this position you will have taken multiple RPTS courses that apply to the event management field as well as have exceptional communication skills. This is a paid internship and you are presented with many different networking opportunities on top of a community that is there to support you through your internship. One will come out of this internship with close to full confidence in starting an event from scratch to finish and the ability to work well with others. I also finished with learned a ton about keeping records, and data and how to gain knowledge from event data.
